Redcliffe Jetty Markets: in the heart of the community

When: Every Sunday from 8am to 2pm
Where: Anzac Parade Parklands, Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe

From little things big things grow.

This can be said of Redcliffe Jetty Markets, which started as a teeny weeny street market four years ago. It has grown to become “Redcliffe’s premier peninsula market” – deservedly so.

The market offers an eclectic spread of fresh farm produce, beautiful handcrafted items that are both locally sourced and from overseas, fashion items that cover clothing and accessories, jewellery, yummy takeway food stalls, fresh coffee (of course) and live entertainment.

What’s more, it is located against the divine natural backdrop of Moreton Bay.

The market organisers are also firmly earthed in community as strong supporters of the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.

It’s not a half bad way to spend your Sunday.

Free parking is available in adjacent car parks.

Summer Activities in Redcliffe

Scarborough is the perfect place to base yourself during your Summer holiday on the Redcliffe Peninsula with plenty of fantastic Summer activities available in nearby Redcliffe.

These are the top 5 Summer activities in Redcliffe that will keep you both cool and thoroughly entertained:

 1. The Iconic Redcliffe Jetty

Good for fishing, walks, photography or quiet contemplation, the jetty is the centrepiece of Redcliffe.  It’s been considered the ‘heart of the peninsula’ ever since ships carrying holiday makers started arriving in the late 1800s.

2. Suttons Beach

This patrolled beach that stretches for about a kilometre, is perfect for families with young children. Suttons Beach is close to everything – the jetty, the markets and all of the shops along the main road – so it’s easy to pop over to grab something to eat or drink. The beach hugs the shoreline closely, and there are numerous BBQs and small park areas set up along the way. A great place to play in the water with the kids and have picnic lunch afterwards.

3. Settlement Cove Lagoon

As an alternative to the beach Redcliffe also has it’s own free waterpark – Settlement Cove Lagoon. Located on Redcliffe Parade, it’s close to Suttons Beach, the jetty and the markets. It is patrolled by lifeguards during daylight hours and has it’s own picnic areas too. The lagoon has shallow wading pools as well as deeper sections and a children’s section. There are shower and toilet amenities available for use. The kids will love this swimming lagoon!

4. Humpybong Creek Precinct

The Humpybong Creek Precinct is located on the corner of Creek street and is home to many varieties of bird and fish. There are beautiful fountains, lush green grass, bridges and picnic areas to take advantage of. This is a great place for any budding photographers too, or bird-watchers wanting to get some close-up encounters. It’s a great place for a picnic or just to feed the ducks.

5. Redcliffe Rail Line Shared Pathway

Get on your bike and enjoy 12 kilometres of pathways running adjacent to the new Redcliffe Peninsula Rail Line. The Redcliffe Peninsula Rail Line opened in October 2016 – bringing with it a whole new shared pathway available for walking, running, skating, or perhaps best of all, cycling. The new rail extension goes all the way from Petrie (on the train line between Brisbane and Caboolture), to Kippa-Ring. Along the way the developers have done a wonderful job in engaging artists in the local community to contribute to various murals along the way, plus you may get to seem some Australian wildlife in the bush.
