Learn To Sail

Learn to sail in the beautiful Moreton Bay waters with Moreton Bay Boat Club Junior Sailing courses. Moreton Bay Boat Club run two courses at the Club: Tackers and Learn to Sail. Tackers is an introductory, fun, games based sailing program designed by Yachting Australia for kids aged 7 – 12. Whilst Learn to Sail sessions are for the more serious sailors and run each Sunday, with 2 hour sessions which run for 9 weeks in line with the school semester.

Stand Up Paddleboarding, Kayaking or Pedal Boating

Hire a Standup Paddleboard (SUP), Kayak or Pedal Boat and get out on The Bay!  This is a safe and fun activity that all the family can get involved in. Floatin’ Fun opposite 89 Landsborough Ave, Scarborough can hire you one of these water craft by the hour and give you some basic lessons. You can even get a Floatin’ Fun Deal for $60 that allows you to hire any 3 crafts (SUP, Kyak or Peddleboat)  for an hour.

Boat Hire

Hire a boat for the day and explore the magnificent Moreton Bay. Moreton Island Cruise

Dolphin Wild, cruises out to Moreton Bay Marine Park which is home to a variety of marine animals such as playful dolphins, huge turtles, shy dugongs and the majestic humpback whale passes through these waters from June to October. Along the way you will receive an informative commentary by a marine naturalist including the unique history of Moreton Island and its marine life.

The day includes a guided snorkelling tour at either Tangalooma Wrecks, which is world renowned for its richly diverse marine environment with 15 scuttled wrecks and a myriad of marine life, or Flinders Reef which is a small isolated reef that has a large number of coral and fish species.

Scarborough Beach Parklands

Directly opposite Scarborough Beach Resort are the beachfront parklands on Scarborough Beach. Scarborough Beach Park is a fully fenced and partly shaded playground made up of two play areas – Railway Place and Pirate Place, complete with themed playground equipment. Walking & Biking Pathways

Ride a bike or take a walk / run from Scarborough to Newport. This 8km route winds around the top of Redcliffe Peninsula through Casuarina and Cotton Tree lined parks, along the waterfront, to the canals of Newport.

Redcliffe Walking Tours

Take a guided walking tour of Redcliffe and learn about the history of the area and the first settlers.

The walking tour, guided by a Redcliffe Museum volunteer, takes approximately one hour, commencing from Captain Cook Park where mention is made of the explorations of Cook and Matthew Flinders.

Next stop is at the First Settlement Memorial Wall which is the site of the first settlement, chosen by John Oxley, in September 1824.

At the Redcliffe Jetty learn about the three jetties which serviced the city since 1885. At the Koopa Deck learn about the SS Koopa which brought tourists to Redcliffe between 1911 and 1953.

On the way to the Redcliffe Museum you pass the only remaining World War II air raid shelter and the site of a convict built well. The remains of an old weir on Humpybong Creek are the last point of interest before arrival at the Redcliffe Museum.
